Accessories
Many clients want to personalize their kitchens and add special features to make the workspace more functional. The addition of matching or complimentary crown molding can dramatically change the look of the kitchen. Other wooden accessories include vent or range hoods, wine racks, fluted pilasters, matching appliance panels and valances.
After selecting the cabinet style and finish, you complete your vision by selecting knobs and/or pulls to compliment the cabinets. There are thousands of knobs and finishes available. Cabinets RRR Us offers a selection of ‘stock’ hardware in a wide variety of designs and finishes to help focus your selection process. Of course if you have seen a special knob in a magazine ad or in a store, we can usually find it at one of our distributors. Soft-closing hinges and full extension soft-closing drawer glides are very popular.
One of the most popular features kitchen-lovers want is pull-out drawers for pots, pans and food storage. We can convert your base cabinet space into more useful storage with easier access to your items. Pull-out spice racks provide convenient access for the cook in your home. Our consultant will help you select from the different organizing options available to maximize the space you have.
Sinks
Cabinets RRR Us offers a selection of stainless steel sinks and porcelain vanity bowls. Undermount sinks for granite countertops are available in a wide variety of shapes and depths. Most people select stainless steel for the kitchen. We supply 18 gauge or 16 gauge stainless steel sinks for insulation and noise damping. Porcelain oval or rectangular bowls are most typically selected for bathroom vanities. For a unique look, select from glass or copper vessel sinks. Drop-in sinks for laminate countertops are limited to single bowl, 60/40 or 50/50 bowl configurations in 18 gauge stainless steel. The lower the gauge, the thicker the stainless steel is. For rentals you should consider investing in the thicker stainless for durability and greater dent resistance. You may purchase your own sink from another source, but remember that we need it and the faucet on-site when we measure for your countertops.
Cabinet Refacing
Refacing offers home owners a remodeling alternative to the long and disruptive process of ripping out existing cabinets and installing new ones. Consider this option as a Facelift for your cabinets. You can update and change the look of your kitchen in less time (typically less than a week) using less of your remodeling dollars. For rental properties, refacing means reduced time out of the rental market and savings of up to 35% of the cost of new cabinets.
Cabinets RRR Us will remove the existing cabinet doors and drawer fronts. The cabinet face frames (the part of the cabinet that is visible around the doors/drawers) and end panels will be sanded and prepped. A matching veneer or laminate will be bonded to the surfaces with a commercial adhesive. The new doors will be installed using Blum European hidden hinges. The new drawer fronts will be attached to your existing or new drawer boxes. New door knobs, drawer handles, valances, shelves, pull-outs and trim molding will complete your refacing transformation. If your cabinets are the frameless panel type, we install new doors, hinges and drawer fronts. This can be completed in 1 or 2 days.
Additional cabinets or modifications to existing cabinets can be completed as part of the restyling. This preserves your original cabinet investment, while allowing for creative design changes to make the kitchen more functional or aesthetically pleasing.
Refacing has a positive impact on the environment. By reusing your existing cabinet boxes, we minimize the amount of materials going to our overburdened landfills. Cabinets RRR Us recycles all reusable countertops, sinks, doors and appliances to Habitat Re-Store.
Cabinet Refinishing
If your cabinets are stained or painted and you like the door style, but they are showing their age Refinishing may be an option for you. Refinishing is like a facial or make-up for your cabinets. Cabinets rRr Us will evaluate the type and condition of the finish and inspect the cabinet construction to determine what your options are.
Stained cabinets cannot be stained lighter, only darker. Painting would be an alternative, if you would like the finish. Staining and painting usually requires us to remove the doors, hinges, drawers and trim to be worked on in our shop. The cabinet end panels and face frames would require finishing in your home or condo. Refinishing is a labor intensive method of updating or refreshing your cabinets. Some door styles and cabinet designs may require extensive hand sanding or stripping prior to applying the new finish. Cabinets rRr Us will consult with you to determine if your budget and expectations are aligned, before proceeding with a detailed estimate.
Restyling - Kitchen & Bathroom
Restyling your kitchen and bathrooms to achieve the updated look and functionality that you envision is the Plastic Surgery approach. It involves replacement of your cabinets and countertops and may entail new flooring, paint, tile backsplashes or other remodeling to meet your design requirements.
Appliance openings can be resized in the restyling process to allow drop-in cooktops, double ovens or larger refrigerators. A microwave can be integrated into your wall cabinets. Countertops can be replaced with granite, solid surface or the new High Definition laminates to compliment the restyling. We offer a selection of stainless steel sinks in 18 and 16 gauge and porcelain sinks to complete your transition.
The feel and functionality of your kitchen can be improved with full extension soft-close glides. Drawer boxes can be fitted with organizer and spice rack inserts. One of our most popular options is adjustable height, pull-outs for your base cabinets. They really help the back and knees! The incorporation of pull-out spice racks, pantries, wine racks and under-cabinet lighting will allow you to further customize your new kitchen.
Bathrooms can be dramatically changed by utilizing tall vanity cabinets and eliminating full-wall mirrors. A furniture piece vanity creates a more open feel to the room. Many of our clients decide to replace cultured marble tub and shower surrounds with tile to complement new floor tile. We will work with you to create a new look for each bathroom.
We will collaborate with you to include your ideas and life-style in the restyling of your kitchen and bathrooms. Bring photos from magazines or friend’s homes or a list of ‘must haves’ and ‘wants’ so that we incorporate those to create the kitchen or bath that you envision.
Countertops
The countertop is one of the 3 major surfaces in a kitchen and makes a big impact on the overall look and feel of your kitchen. A kitchen update or restyling should include the replacement of older countertops, sink and faucet. Cabinets rRr Us will assist you in your selection of material, color, sinks and backsplashes to compliment your restyled kitchen or bath.
Laminates
One of the oldest countertop surfaces, laminates are basically decorative paper or photo-finishes combined with paper and resins which are fused together under high heat and pressure. This durable laminate is bonded to sheets of substrate material, typically particle board, MDF or plywood which provides the structure for the countertop or vanity. Laminate tops are durable, easy to clean, the least expensive and offer vast decorating choices.
Today there are hundreds of finishes to choose from, including premium ones that look and feel like natural stone. Technology has expanded the number and styles of edge profiles available.
There are two laminate terms that you should understand. Site-built tops are built and installed at your home. This method is typically used for unusually shaped tops. Site-built tops will have a seam where the backsplash meets the countertop and on the side splashes. Post-form countertops are manufactured and usually include a continuous backsplash with no seam. This type of top has mitered seams in the corners and side splashes. Typically the back splash is only available in one height.
Consistent color and patterns are a standard of solid surface products. Solid surface tops are made of acrylic or polyester resins. This makes them nonporous, stain resistant and easy to clean. They are available in a variety of colors and patterns to add a special look to any kitchen. Although most tops are seamed on-site, the resulting seams are virtually undetectable. Some solid surfaces may scratch over time, but are easily polished back to new condition. Sinks may be drop-in, under mount or integrated into the top. Corian and other solid surfaces initially offered a lower cost alternative to natural stone. With an increasing supply of natural stone causing the price to drop significantly, many people choose solid surface for their design based on color consistency and pattern.
Quartz
Quartz surfaces are man-made using natural quartz crystal and synthetic resins. Like solid surface tops, quartz tops have a consistent, engineered color and pattern. They are more heat tolerant than other surfaces and do not require sealing or any special care. They are the most stain resistant and bacteria resistant surface in use. All of this comes with a price – typically exceeding all but the most unique natural stones.
Granite
Granite is a naturally occurring stone that is extremely hard, with mineral veins and deposits. Granite typically will not be harmed by placing hot pots on the countertop. Granites have differing porosities and strengths. Some stone has more naturally occurring fissures and veining. Designers love granite for its unique characteristics and ‘movement’ caused by nature. We seal our granite on installation and it should be sealed at least once a year.
